Lawrence Callaway

Lawrence C. Callaway, III, is a transactional, real estate and probate attorney who also handles real estate related litigation matters. He represents both individuals and institutions and also serves as counsel to the Marion County Industrial Development Authority.

Mr. Callaway received his BBA (cum laude) from Stetson University in 1976, and received his JD (cum laude) from that university in 1979. While an undergraduate, he received numerous awards for leadership and scholarship, including being named to Omicron Delta Kappa, the national leadership honorary. In law school, Mr. Callaway served as a teaching assistant and research assistant in the area of commercial law and was honored as a Dana Scholar.

A third generation Floridian, Mr. Callaway was born and raised in West Palm Beach. He moved to Fort Lauderdale after graduating from law school. After practicing in South Florida for almost two decades, Mr. Callaway moved to Ocala to join the firm of Ayres, Cluster, Curry, McCall & Briggs in 1999. In 2008, he joined Randy Klein and Fred Roberts, Jr. at Klein & Klein, LLC.

Mr. Callaway’s civic involvement has included serving on the local Board of Directors of the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation. He has also served as a Board Member and President of the Marion County Public Education Foundation. Mr. Callaway continues to work with young men serving as Scoutmaster for Troop 100 of the Boy Scouts of America. He has led many scouts to become Eagle Scouts and has taken them on various adventures including, whitewater rafting down the Ocoee River, hiking over ninety miles through the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and New Mexico and much more. The photo below is from the troops joint trip with Troop 172 the summer of 2023 to Mammoth Cave National Park, which included various hikes along the way there and back.

Mr. Callaway has been married to his wife, Loxi, for over thirty years. He and his wife have two adult children, Caitlin and Corey. Caitlin is a speech pathologist and lives in Spanish Fort, Alabama.  Corey is an IT consultant in Charlotte, North Carolina.
